Want Your Students to Be LFW Fellows?

Leaders of the Free World (LFW) provides international experience and leadership development to young Black men in college/university.
Our program focuses on creating a brotherhood of high potential young men ready to up-level their leadership skills and redefine their possibilities.

The LFW experience is more than just a trip...
In addition to the international exposure, our fellows engage in personal and professional development activities, before, during, and after their trip, that target social and psychological barriers to success. We find that through this process, participants return home ready to apply the skills they have learned in full force on behalf of themselves and their communities.

Our mission is to develop dynamic leaders who are globally-minded, self-aware, and service-driven.

Partners play a key role in the Leaders of the Free World’s (LFW) program; helping us to achieve our mission to cultivate Black male leaders of tomorrow. Partners provide invaluable support to the organization by identifying potential students, guiding them through the application steps, and supporting their participation in the program.

We're looking for organizations with similar missions (such as education, mentorship, and Black Male Achievement) who are interested in sending 1-2 young men to join the next LFW cohort to Ghana.

Minimum Partner Qualifications:
  • Partners must be affiliated with a college, university or other educational institution/program whose students or participants include Black men between the ages of 18-27 years old.
  • Partners must embrace LFW mission and values.
Ideal Partner Qualifications:
  • Institutions that currently have Black male achievement programs (Black Male Initiative, My Brother’s Keeper, etc.), men of color resource/support groups, or leadership development programs.
  • Institutions with an existing commitment to diversity in international education.
  • Community colleges seeking to create and expand international opportunities for their students (particularly students of color).
  • Institutions willing to provide financial support and/or recruitment and advocacy for the LFW program on their campus.
