LFW Global Leadership Pipeline Initiative
The Global Leadership Pipeline Initiative is a program designed to diversify the global leadership landscape by empowering young Black men to access international experiences and pursue leadership roles on a global scale. This initiative aims to create opportunities, provide information, and offer resources that support Black men in studying abroad, participating in international fellowship programs, and securing global leadership positions.
Program Goals:
The Global Leadership Pipeline Initiative is a program designed to diversify the global leadership landscape by empowering young Black men to access international experiences and pursue leadership roles on a global scale. This initiative aims to create opportunities, provide information, and offer resources that support Black men in studying abroad, participating in international fellowship programs, and securing global leadership positions.
Program Goals:
- Increase Diversity & Inclusion in Global Leadership: Advocate for greater representation of Black men in global leadership positions across various sectors, including international education, foreign service, global business, and global health.
- Career Development & Readiness on a Global Scale: Equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in globally focused careers.
- Promote International Leadership Development: Encourage young Black men to develop leadership capabilities through international exposure and engagement.
- Increase Networking & Global Exchange: Facilitate connections between students, professionals, and global organizations to build a robust network for future leadership opportunities.
Program Components:
Throughout the year, LFW will provide opportunities for students, employers, and international education programs to engage, build connections, and strengthen the Global Leadership Pipeline for Black men in college and in their future careers. Students from partner colleges will have the opportunity to participate in virtual workshops from industry experts and access global networking opportunities, funding, and career connections.
As part of the Global Leadership Pipeline Initiative, LFW hosts the Black Men in Global Leadership Summit each year. This summit is a pivotal event, bringing together young Black men, and industry experts to discuss strategies, opportunities, and challenges in global leadership. Through keynote speakers, panels, and networking sessions, the summit serves as a critical platform for participants to build connections and explore global leadership pathways.
