LFW Partnership Program
Partners play a vital role in the Leaders of the Free World’s (LFW) program, helping us achieve our mission to cultivate black male leaders of tomorrow. Partners provide invaluable support to the organization by identifying potential students, guiding them through the application steps, and supporting their participation in the program.
Program Description
The LFW program combines tactics proven to assist in the academic success and retention of Black men. The program utilizes mentorship and positive peer group affiliation to support participants. LFW focuses on self-efficacy and college/career advising) with an international experience that incorporates an identity-specific curriculum that addresses the lived experiences of Black men.
According to a recent CNN report, Black professionals in 2018 held just 3.3% of all executive or senior leadership roles...among Fortune 500 companies, less than 1% of CEOs are Black.
LFW works to address the lack of diversity in the social, philanthropic, public, and for-profit sectors (particularly in advanced leadership positions) and overcome the social and psychological barriers to academic and professional success perpetuated by inequality systems. We emphasize mentorship, intercultural learning, and leadership training as critical components of shaping the next generation of leaders and social change-makers, who grow into our involved alumni (currently, one serves on the board and is a student mentor).
