Would you like to join our inaugural LFW team in 2016?
Starting in this March the first Leaders of the Free World cohort will begin their first session. The team will meet twice a month as part of the LFW curriculum, leading up to our trip to Ghana in the summer (July 22-August 8). LFW fellows will be matched with mentors who will facilitate their participation in the LFW program; before and after the trip. Mentors and Fellows are expected to participate in all 3 phases of the program, including pre-departure, international experience, and re-entry.

Fellows
Leaders of the Free World fellows are exceptional young men with untapped leadership potential. Fellows have experienced "proven risk" circumstances but are willing to commit to a process of transformation. Fellows aren't afraid to ask for help, they're wiling to help others, and invest in themselves and their community.
Eligibility:
- Fellows must be between 18-23yrs
- Able commit to all 3 phases of the LFW program
- Willing to travel internationally (Ghana)
- Able and willing to obtain a passport

Mentors
LFW Mentors guide fellows through the LFW program. Mentors provide support an encouragement to participants and are the first point of contact throughout of the program. Mentors are expected to show compassion and empathy. They are ready and willing to have difficult conversations when needed. Mentors are able to identify participant challenges and coach them through it while encouraging fellows to reach outside of their comfort zone.
Eligibility:
- Mentors must be between 18-25yrs
- Must have previous mentorship experience (formally or informally)
- Mentors should be able to relate to participants socially and emotionally.
- Able to commit to all 3 phases of LFW program
- Willing to travel internationally (Ghana)
- Able and willing to obtain a passport
- Mentors are expected to provide their own funding ($800 + airfare)
